The Outer Banks is not a place where Kooks and Pogues battle class wars and hunt for treasure. In fact, the show “Outer Banks” isn’t even filmed in the Outer Banks. Still, it piqued curiosity and increased travel to the area. Kitty Hawk Watersports welcomes all visitors and wants you to experience everything it offers. In fact, there are so many things to do in the Outer Banks that we had to limit our list to five.
I’ve been in the watersports business since 1997. Therefore, I’m accustomed to walking in the water, helping customers get on a jet ski, floating the jet ski to the beach for fueling, etc. I often forget how simple our set-up is until I hear a customer say, “We have to walk in the water to get to our jet-ski?” Then I remember that, in some ways, our Kitty Hawk Watersports operations aren’t much different than those in a Third World country. Consequently, we decided to make some changes for the 2022 Outer Banks season, which I’m excited to share here.

At Kitty Hawk Watersports, our business is so many things to so many people. It can be an emotional outlet, an adventure, a time to stretch boundaries, entertainment, or it can simply be play. Some people come out just to get away from the daily ho-hum, while some want to give their kids a new experience. Others come out for the excitement, and many customers just want to relax.
