Learn How to Ride an SUP

While it may not be a new watersport, we’ve seen a rise in people loving stand-up paddleboarding in recent years. Perhaps you too have seen these SUPs along the Outer Banks, and you’re intrigued. And why not? SUPs combine the best of both the surfing and kayaking worlds, creating a fun and relaxing way to explore the coast. At Kitty Hawk Watersports, we recommend that all visitors to the greater Nags Head or Kitty Hawk, NC, areas give it a try.

SUP Lessons

The great thing about the SUP is that it’s not as hard as it looks. However, if you’re completely new to stand-up paddleboarding, you may feel more comfortable taking an SUP lesson or two before renting a paddleboard and heading out on your own. Kitty Hawk Watersports offers a one-hour introductory course in how to ride a stand-up paddleboard. One of our skilled instructors will get you out on the water so you can navigate an SUP with confidence. 

SUP Rentals

If you’ve done it before or you’re more of a learn-as-you-go type person, you can rent an SUP and start gliding along the coast even today. We offer hourly, daily, and weekly rental rates, depending on what you’re looking for. You can explore the coast on your own or with friends, making memories (and getting a workout) as you go.
